Women's Coaching Staff
We are excited to announce our 2026 UPSL Women's Coaching Staff, Head Coach Kyle Johnson and Assistant Coaches Archie Gjerdrum, and Rebecca Scott. All three come with a diverse background of experience and we are excited to have them on board.
Kyle Johnson
Women’s Head Coach
Kyle Johnson is a dedicated soccer coach and community leader with over a decade of experience in player development. He has led successful turnarounds at Como Park and Humboldt High Schools, building both into dominant programs within the inner city. As the founder of Joga Bonito, Like a Girl, TAKA FC, and the Karen Football Association, Kyle has created pathways for athletes of all backgrounds to access the game and grow through it.

In 2019, Kyle was selected by Major League Soccer as one of 24 honorees nationwide for the MLS WORKS Community MVP, presented by Wells Fargo—recognizing his impact using soccer to uplift local communities. He is also a National Girls & Women in Sports Breaking Barriers Award winner, reflecting his commitment to inclusion and empowerment through the game.
Archie Gjerdrum
Assistant Head Coach
Coach Gjerdrum is deeply passionate about soccer and athlete development. He played for Minneapolis City SC and competed in Germany in their fourth and fifth tiers of the professional league.

Coach Gjerdrum graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Sports Science from UW-Superior in 2022. His education and experiences have shaped his approach to personalized training and relationship-building with players, parents, and coaches.

In the 2024 season, Coach Gjerdrum served as the Assistant Varsity Coach for the Eagan Wildcats helping win the High School State Tournament this past Fall
